Review: The Face Shop Power Long-Lasting Sun Cream SPF 45 PA+++

Claims:
A long-lasting sunscreen with some coverage that contains sunflower sprout extract and other natural ingredients

Ingredient Notes:
This product contains some silicone-based compounds, and as a result may not be suitable for silicone-sensitive individuals.

Application:
The produce squeezes out of the tube as a thick beige cream, and thins out when rubbed into skin to create a subtle brightening effect (yes, this is one of those sunscreens that uses zinc oxide's white cast as a cosmetic feature). Applied to the face, it feels somewhat heavy. It is definitely not one of those ultra-lightweight sun milks that have become so popular in recent years. However, it leaves fair skin with a subtle glow and slightly more even skin, however darker skintones would likely find that this product makes their skin look ashy.

Remarks:
This glow and subtle evening-out of skin makes this sunscreen one of my favorites, and provides an excellent base for makeup. BUT, these raves only extend for the first six hours of wear. If I apply at around 9am, by the time 3pm rolls around I can feel it sucking the oil out of my already dry skin. This leaves my face feeling tight and uncomfortable, a sensation that lasts until I give up and remove the sunscreen. People with normal-to-oily skin might really appreciate this kind of grease control, but those with dehydrated skin like me would be advised to steer clear of this product.

Pros:
+ slightly evens out fair skintones
+ good base for makeup application
+ long-lasting formula

Cons:
- might not work on darker skintones
- not suitable for dry skin
